<Ray for a Day 2023  >

What is Ray for a Day?

Join Rays of Sunshine on the longest day of the year and help make the world a brighter place for seriously ill children and their families.

On the 21st of June, be a Ray for a Day, shine by wearing something yellow and donating £2, to help us grant even more magical wishes for seriously ill children.

The wishes we grant are as unique as the children themselves and whether a child wants to be a firefighter, meet a real-life mermaid or even the Loch Ness Monster, we work hard to make that wish come true. Help make more magical wishes come true this year.

Yes, I want to shine

How can you get involved in Ray for a Day?

You could shine at your school in a non-uniform day, shine in your office or at the gym – it’s up to you. You can even shine at home if you like!

Whether that be popping on a yellow hat, putting on a yellow pair of socks or maybe you’re feeling brave and want to go into your office head to toe in yellow — we appreciate any support!

We are encouraging yoga studios to get involved as Ray for a Day falls on World Yoga Day! Wear some bright yellow yoga gear and turn some heads on the 21st of June to do your part for charity!

Spread your sunshine by sharing your amazing outfits on social media, and don’t forget to tag us and use the hashtag #RayForADay.

Shine for Grishma

By becoming a Ray for a Day and donating to Rays of Sunshine, you will help grant more magical wishes for children like Grishma.

Grishma was just two years old when she was diagnosed with Langerhans’ cell histiocytosis. Her illness meant lots of trips to the hospital, meaning she missed out on a lot of the fun childhood brings.

That’s when she was referred to Rays of Sunshine for a wish, and being a huge Peppa Pig fan, she asked for a trip to Peppa Pig Word and a Peppa Pig bicycle.

Grishma’s mum, Geeta, said: “We were so excited when we found out Grishma’s wish would be fulfilled because it gave her more reason to play and have fun like she should as a little girl.”

Help create these magical moments by becoming a Ray for a Day!

I want to help children like Grishma

“Rays of Sunshine fulfilled Grishma’s every wish... These are memories that we all still treasure today as a family.”
